Waterproof jackets have a laminated or coated outer layer and taped seams. This combination prevents water from entering even in heavy rainfall. Water resistance up to: 10,000 mm This means the material only allows water through under a pressure equivalent to 10,000 mm of water, or 10 metres. The higher this number, the better the jacket withstands rain exposure. Also check breathability for extra comfort.

Water‑repellent jackets are treated with a special coating that causes droplets to roll off the surface. This protects against light rain or snow, but is not fully waterproof. Over time the coating can wear off; retreatment is possible.

Windproof jackets are designed to keep cold air out completely. Thanks to a special layer in the material, warm air remains close to the body. This prevents the wind chill effect, where the perceived temperature feels much lower than the actual temperature. Ideal for open plains, long walks, or a crisp autumn day.
